Ruslan and Lyudmila

Ruslan and Lyudmila is the premiere project of the ensemble "Russia". The multimedia concert program "Ruslan and Lyudmila" immerses the audience in the fairy-tale world of Lukomorye, created by the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. There, the wise cat wanders around a green oak tree, Prince Vladimir feasts, and the brave Ruslan strives to get into the Kingdom of the wizard Chernomor, where the beautiful Lyudmila languishes in prison.

Especially for this program, an original arrangement of fragments of the Opera of the same name by Glinka was created. It is now performed by folk instruments. In the colourful musical performance of domra, gusli, balalaika, bayan and the rich variety of their timbres, the well-known music of "Ruslan and Lyudmila" is heard in a new way. The concert is performed by soloists of the leading opera houses of Russia, winners of prestigious international vocal competitions, participants of famous European opera festivals.

Magical fairy-tale images created by the poet come to life right before the eyes of the audience in the sand illustrations of Lilia Chistina, winner of the Moscow and Berlin art weeks. The illustrations became the scenery of a fairy tale.
