Dmitry Dmitrienko

Dmitry Dmitrienko is the director, artistic director and chief conductor of the State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble “Russia” named after Lyudmila Zykina.

Dmitry Dmitrienko was born in Kirov. He graduated with honours from the Kirov school of Arts named after I.V. Kazenin. Then he graduated from the Russian academy of music named after Gnesinych (class of Honoured artist of Russia, Professor Y.A. Sidorov) and as well as post-graduate (lead – National artist of Russia, Professor V.P. Kruglov). From the first months of education at the Academy, he joined the National orchestra of folk instruments named after N.P. Osipov, where he soon became a soloist. Currently, Dmitry is a professor and head of the department of folk instruments at the State Music and Pedagogical Institute named after M.M. Ippolitov-Ivanov.
