Maslenitsa

Ethno-performance

An unusual Lyudmila Zykina’s theatrical project ensemble “Russia” will immerse you in the atmosphere of one of the most ancient Russian holidays. On one hand, "Maslenitsa" is a full-fledged concert with an extensive musical program. On the other — a bright performance. There the artists, as if performing the traditional rites of each day of the Maslenitsa week, involve the viewer in the festive action and fun games. Just like a kaleidoscope, scenes of folk life flash before the viewer. Then Russian guys and girls come out to the square with a song to drive away the gloom and call for spring. The funny buffoons try to cheer the audience with their jokes, arrange a real "carnival of ditties”.

A vast Russian holiday is born on the stage, the mood of which captures  everyone — the soloists, the conductor, the performers and the audience.
