From June 21 to October 10, the L. G. Zykina Russia Ensemble and the Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics will hold the OPEN SPACE Festival for the sixth time.

2021 marks the 60th anniversary of the first human spaceflight. This event was one of the most important milestones in the history of all mankind. The Sixth International Creative Laboratory of Contemporary Composers "Open Space" will be dedicated to this event.

From June 21 to October 10, 2021, the L. G. Zykina State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble " Russia "and the Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics will host the Sixth International Creative Laboratory of Contemporary Composers" OPEN SPACE " of Dmitry Kurlyandsky. The producer Elena Klimova. The official partners of the Sixth Laboratory are the State Historical Museum-Reserve "Gorki Leninskie", as well as producer and music publisher Valery Mifodovsky. The laboratory is supported by the State Corporation Roscosmos.

"OPEN SPACE" is aimed at supporting the creativity of young composers, forming a tolerant attitude to the creative personality, its artistic realization in the modern world, as well as popularizing works created for national orchestras.

This year, the Organizing Committee received more than 100 applications, from which the jury selected 9 finalists.

The participants will have a series of lectures and master classes in the period from June 20 to 25, and create a new composition for the ensemble of Russian folk instruments. On October 10, 2021, a concert of the finalists will be held at the Cosmonautics Museum in Moscow.
